Directed Drawings: Turn the alphabet into animals

$6.00

This product works on visual motor, letter identification and features DIRECTED DRAWINGS for all 26 lowercase letters of the alphabet. Students will turn letters into animals or object that start with the SAME LETTER! (Example: a = ant, b = bird etc). Please note: I made this as an OT so this focus is more on visual motor/fine motor as compared to literacy/letter sounds/vowel sounds. This does not include all letter sounds. This is a GREAT way to practice not only letter formation but near point copy, shapes, visual perceptual skills, visual motor skills, pre-writing lines and more! These are all 2 – 6 step drawings with the majority being 4 – 6 step drawings. They feature simple shapes that are easy for children of all abilities to copy. These are FULL PAGE, one for each letter.

Words included:

ant, bird, cat, dinosaur, elephant, fish, goat and giraffe, ice cream and insect, jug, key, leaf, penguin, queen, robot, vulture, walrus, xantus hummingbird and zebra.

Ways to use:

•Have children write each letter of their name using the animals

•Put this into centers to have children write letters / make pictures of out the animals.

•After writing their name, have children write a story about the animals /objects in their name.

•Cut the steps of a letter into cards and have children put them in order. Then draw the letter.

Note: due to a request, there is an extra g page (g is for giraffe and g is for goat). I love requests so please reach out to me if you have any feedback about my products!
