Dr. Elizabeth Rizki Kosek, OTD, OTR/L is a pediatric occupational therapist who has been passionate about occupational therapy since earning her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013. She founded Empowering OT in 2018 and has worked with children from 6 months old through high school across a variety of pediatric settings.

As both an occupational therapist and a mom of children with individualized needs, Elizabeth has had the unique experience of sitting on both sides of the table. She understands what it is like to be the therapist completing evaluations, developing goals, supporting participation, and collaborating with families and school teams – but she also knows what it is like to sit at that same table as a parent, listening to evaluation results, attending therapy appointments, trying strategies, asking questions, and advocating for her own children.

These experiences shape the work behind Empowering OT. Elizabeth is passionate about creating practical, empowering resources for occupational therapists, teachers, parents, and children. Her materials are designed to be neuroaffirming, differentiated, playful, functional, and low prep, with engaging themes and practical strategies that can be used in real-life classrooms, therapy sessions, homes, and everyday routines.

When she isn’t in an OT session or creating resources, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband and twins, hanging out with her four cats, visiting Disney, and traveling the world.
