Prewriting Shapes and Letters Task Cards

THESE 50+ MULTI-SENSORY 4×6 TASK CARDS WORK ON PRE-WRITING, SHAPES AND ALPHABET. STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO USE A WRITING TOOL! Visual directions included for students create these items by using playdough, poms poms/tweezers or mini erasers. If you do want students to work on using a writing tool, you can have students use dry erase markers to complete the task.

• Task box covers pages 4-5. You can either split into 3 boxes or use just the cover that says shapes and alphabet task cards.
• Directions pages 6-7. You can either put these in the task boxes or place this out in the center for students to complete these tasks. The directions include playdough, tongs/poms poms, dry eraser marker and mini erasers.
• Pre/writing lines/shapes pages 8 – 13 (12 cards)
• Uppercase letters pages 14-26 (26 cards)
• Lowercase letters pages 27-39 (26 cards)

Laminate and cut into task cards. The size of these cards work perfectly for photo boxes. If you do not have a photo box, you can simply hole punch and make a flip book.

This is perfect for independent centers, full class, therapy, early finishers, handwriting practice, and therapy groups.

This type of activity can support hand strength, visual scanning, visual perceptual skills, visual motor skills, age appropriate grasp, crossing midline, and fine motor skills.

This is perfect for RTI / MTSS / 504 / IEP as an intervention for hand strength. and handwriting. This could also be used in a center. This is also a perfect activity for occupational therapists OT, teachers, speech pathologists SLP, special education teachers SPED and other school professions while working on skills!

I am a school occupational therapist who has a doctorate in occupational therapy. I work closely with special education and general education staff adapting material.
